Taichuang, Taiwan—In response to market demand for 4:1 input range converters, Powergood (Small Technology Research Group) has added two dual positive outputs devices to its isolated DC-DC converter line for high-speed networking, telecommunications, and computing applications.

The EST363350- D-E and EST483350-D-E are being offered in a 1/16th brick footprint, measuring 0.9-in. x 1.3-in. The dual outputs modules are capable of delivering up to 3.3V@10A and 5.0V@6A or total 40W in the industry-standard footprint.

The EST363350-D-E (EST483350-D-E) devices are designed to operate efficiently over a 4:1(2:1) input range of 18 to 75 VDC. They can be placed on boards with industry standard bus voltages of 24V, 48V or 60V.

VersaLogic Corp. has announced a fanless version of its Cheetah PC/104-Plus embedded single board computer (SBC). The new Cheetah version (EPM-32v) boasts the processing power of Intels® Ultra-Low Voltage Celeron® M CPU, but operates without a fan and uses only eight watts of power.

The new ULV Cheetah is targeted at applications such as medical, avionics, navigation/tracking, system monitoring, and security/homeland defense that require substantial processing power and low power draw, as well as extensive features in a rugged, compact design. The Cheetah is especially well suited for embedded control applications requiring a very small footprint, which the 3.6″ x 3.8″ (90mm x 96mm) size provides.

Two universal sync separators extract the timing signals from input signals, which will be needed further down the signal path to display and manipulate images. This, along with two active output channels per input group, enables functionality such as picture-in-picture (PIP).

The ISL59450 also features programmable output gain control providing another degree of flexibility as the end user can independently adjust the gain of each output to match the termination network.

To support very high resolution signals, the ISL59450 can be configured to bypass the filters and provide 275MHz of bandwidth. Enhanced scalability is achieved through a high impedance state that allows non-active parts to be isolated from active signals, enabling multiple devices to be used in parallel to create larger switches.

All of this makes the ISL59450 an ideal part to handle multiple video inputs into almost any type of video system.

The ISL59450 is available now in a 128-lead MQFP package.
